GPW Benchmark informs about:

• initiation of public consultations of changes in the methodology of provision of Stock Exchange Indices, including material changes to the methodology referred in Art. 28 section 2 of the BMR Regulation
• planned discontinuation of the provision of the WIGtech and WIG-ESG indices;
• increasing the frequency of publication of the mWIG40TR index as the base index for the newly established mWIG40TRsh and mWIG40TRlv indices.

GPW Benchmark invites capital market participants to familiarised with the Consultation Paper and participate in public consultations of proposed methodology changes of provision some indices from GPW Indices Family.

The statistical tests performed showed that, in accordance with the classification adopted by the administrator, two of the changes proposed in the Consultation Paper are material changes in the methodology and therefore subject to mandatory public consultations. The following are considered material changes to the methodology:

• changing the rules for qualifying companies to the WIG20, mWIG40, sWIG80 and WIG30 indices that are in the process of announced voluntary tender offer;
• changing the rules for qualifying companies to the WIGtechTR index during periodic revisions.

GPW Benchmark also informs that after the trading session on June 21, 2024, the Administrator will stop publishing the WIGtech Index (in the price formula).

The publication of the WIGtechTR index in the income version will be continued in accordance with the results of public consultations, and the rules for qualifying companies for the WIGtechTR index will be the qualification standard for other sector-type indices in case they are adopted by the Administrator.

GPW Benchmark also informs that after the trading session on June 28, 2024, it will discontinue publishing the WIG-ESG Index due to the lack of market interest for this index. The Administrator will make efforts to introduce products that take into account ESG factors and decarbonisation goals.

Public consultations of the proposed changes will last until March 13, 2024.
