mWIG40 index is successor of MIDWIG index and has been calculated since December 31, 1997 and comprises 40 medium size companies listed at WSE Main List. The initial value of index was 1000 points. mWIG40 is a price index and thus when it is calculated it accounts only for prices of underlying shares whereas dividend income is excluded. The mWIG40 index excludes WIG20 and sWIG80 index participants and foreign companies listed at WSE and other markets with the market capitalization at the ranking date above the median of market capitalization of companies participating in the WIG20 Index.
